Week 11 - Favorite Term "baby sushi roll"

11 weeks Oct. 27, 2009 • Size: Length 1.5-2.5 in, weight .25oz, Size California Roll (Baby Sushi)

Every week my mom and sister would tell people they came into contact with how big the baby was... and by far this was the best name for doodlebug.... baby sushi roll! Everyone got a kick out of that.

" This week, tiny tooth buds continue to grow under the gums, and the ears move up the sides of the head. Now coming to a close of the first trimester." - Ages and Stages

" The baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig (we liked sushi roll much better), is now almost fully formed. The hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden.

The baby's already busy kicking and stretching, and the tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. (How amazing... water ballet in utero) These movements will become more frequent as the body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that the diaphragm is forming."
