Week 16 - Growth Spurts

16 weeks Dec. 1, 2009 • Size: Length 4.5-5 in, weight 2.5-3oz, Size Rubber Duckey

"Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double its weight and add inches to his length. Right now, it's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. The legs are much more developed, the head is more erect than it has been, and the eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. The ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of the scalp has begun, though baby's locks aren't recognizable yet. It's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop." - Baby Center

Getting excited about having a baby bump soon! Can hardly stand the fact that I am not showing yet. Although ben reminds me that once I am showing I will want to be back at this point! And man he is right!
