Week 24 - My little gymnast

24 weeks Jan. 26, 2010 • Size: Length 8-8.5in, weight 1.25-1.5lbs, Size
half gallon of milk

"You've got a little acrobat on your hands. Not only is your baby flipping around inside your belly, but it's now developed a sense of balance -- which means baby can actually tell when he's upside down!" - Ages and Stages

" Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts it at just over a pound. Since it's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), it cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but the body is filling out proportionally and it'll soon start to plump up. The brain is also growing quickly now, and the taste buds are continuing to develop. The lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help the air sacs inflate once it hits the outside world. The skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon!" - Baby Center
