Week 27 - Pregnant Bowling

27 weeks Feb. 16, 2010 • Size: Length 9.25-9.5 in, weight 2-2.25lbs, Size Sock Monkey

"Way back at the end of your first trimester, your baby weighed in at less than an ounce, and now look at baby! Over the next few months, it'll gain more weight than height (baby still has about five more pounds to pack on to reach the average full-term baby size of 7.5 pounds). Although, that number is very much an average -- many completely healthy babies are born weighing significantly more or less than that amount! In other news, while your baby can now recognize your voice, it still can't hear it clearly. In fact, baby's current eavesdropping ability is akin to how adults hear under water. (Who knew?)" - Ages and Stages

"This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with its legs extended. Baby's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing the eyes, and perhaps even sucking the fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While the lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if it were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother baby, so just relax and enjoy the tickle."

I really do feel the hiccups and it is a funny sensation. Like little ants running in place low on my tummy. This past week for bens birthday we celebrated together at Red Lobster but then had a blast on friday night "COSMIC BOWLING" Late night for the preggo but well worth it. I think I bowled the best I have ever bowled... although I was the most sore I have ever been the next day as well! Who knew bowling could make this many muscles ache. Looking into a prenatal exercise class!

The boys at the end of the night decided to take a picture of me and them... they had bowling balls tucked into their shirts! Pretty funny! Also got to see the lighting of the torch on tv at the alley! Pretty neat!
