Week 27 - Pregnant Bowling

27 weeks Feb. 16, 2010 • Size: Length 9.25-9.5 in, weight 2-2.25lbs, Size Sock Monkey

"Way back at the end of your first trimester, your baby weighed in at less than an ounce, and now look at baby! Over the next few months, it'll gain more weight than height (baby still has about five more pounds to pack on to reach the average full-term baby size of 7.5 pounds). Although, that number is very much an average -- many completely healthy babies are born weighing significantly more or less than that amount! In other news, while your baby can now recognize your voice, it still can't hear it clearly. In fact, baby's current eavesdropping ability is akin to how adults hear under water. (Who knew?)" - Ages and Stages

"This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with its legs extended. Baby's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing the eyes, and perhaps even sucking the fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While the lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if it were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother baby, so just relax and enjoy the tickle."
- Baby Center

I really do feel the hiccups and it is a funny sensation. Like little ants running in place low on my tummy. This past week for bens birthday we celebrated together at Red Lobster but then had a blast on friday night "COSMIC BOWLING" Late night for the preggo but well worth it. I think I bowled the best I have ever bowled... although I was the most sore I have ever been the next day as well! Who knew bowling could make this many muscles ache. Looking into a prenatal exercise class!

The boys at the end of the night decided to take a picture of me and them... they had bowling balls tucked into their shirts! Pretty funny! Also got to see the lighting of the torch on tv at the alley! Pretty neat!

Week 26 - Pregnant photos - FINALLY

26 weeks Feb. 9, 2010 • Size: Length 9.25-9.5 in, weight 2lbs, Size Liter of Soda

Ben turns a whooping 28 tomorrow and we are celebrating by going out for some yummy red lobster. He loves seafood! I have also recently taken some pregnant photos of just me and doodlebug for valentines/birthday present... Alas I caved early and gave them to him recently. So please enjoy some fun photos of me... surprisingly as a photographer we have done a terrible job of documenting the growing tummy. Well this is going to be cured. We are going to at least update every other week! (or try)

" Baby is growing more dapper every day, as the eyebrows and eyelashes become more lush and the hair on the head grows longer and thicker. By this time, all the parts of your baby's eyes are in place -- and it'll be ready to open them and bat those eyelashes in just a few weeks. Your baby's spine is becoming stronger and more flexible, too. It's about the same length as the palm of your hand, but it contains a whopping 150 joints and some 1,000 ligaments." - Ages and Stages

"The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. It may now be able to hear both your voice and your husband's as you chat with each other. It's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of the lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when it's born and takes that first gulp of air. And it's continuing to put on baby fat. Baby now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel." - Baby Center

Week 25 - Lots and lots of hair

25 weeks Feb. 2, 2010 • Size: Length 8.5-9in, weight 1.5-2lbs, Size 5lb bag of flour

" A month or so ago I could barely feel the baby moving -- and now it's poking and rolling around pretty regularly. I am getting used to it -- these amazing kicks will only get more intense in the coming weeks. Baby may be making it's presence known in a big way these days, but it's actually still a skinny little thing -- fat has yet to settle in under the skin and fill out the frame. This week, the little hands are fully grown, complete with fingerprints and fingernails!" - Ages and Stages

" Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. The weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but it's beginning to exchange the long, lean look for some baby fat. As baby does, the wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and it'll start to look more and more like a newborn. It's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture. "

I officially have had terrible heart burn at night for a few weeks now, and according to wives tales the more heart the more head of hair. So, should be interesting to see what this little doodlebug looks like when it is born!

Week 24 - My little gymnast

24 weeks Jan. 26, 2010 • Size: Length 8-8.5in, weight 1.25-1.5lbs, Size
half gallon of milk

"You've got a little acrobat on your hands. Not only is your baby flipping around inside your belly, but it's now developed a sense of balance -- which means baby can actually tell when he's upside down!" - Ages and Stages

" Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts it at just over a pound. Since it's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), it cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but the body is filling out proportionally and it'll soon start to plump up. The brain is also growing quickly now, and the taste buds are continuing to develop. The lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help the air sacs inflate once it hits the outside world. The skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon!" - Baby Center

Week 23 - Sway to the Music

23 weeks Jan. 19, 2010 • Size: Length 7.5-8in, weight 1-1.25lbs, Size Loaf of Bread

"Look at those lungs! Now in major growth mode, these late-blooming organs are crucial for baby's first real breaths after it exits the womb. (Baby's taking practice breaths in there every day -- so cute! -- but still gets all of the oxygen from the placenta.)"
- Ages and Stages

"Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With a sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that it's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see it squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in the lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing baby for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze baby when it hears them outside the womb." - Baby Center

It was really weird to see my stomach roll all the way across for the first time. I was sitting at my computer and working on some business things when I caught it out of the corner of my eyes. I stopped and stared at my tummy and developing baby in there to try to catch it again. It is so amazing to see.

Week 22 - A minature newborn

22 weeks Jan. 12, 2010 • Size: Length 7-7.5 in, weight 1lb, Size 1lb. bag of coffee beans

"In addition to those teeny taste buds baby is sprouting this week, your baby is also developing a sense of touch -- the baby can experience what it's own face feels like, for example. The hair on the head also continues to grow this week, although this is one area where your genes might not make their mark right away. In many cases, the locks your baby's born with bear little resemblance to the hair it'll have at six months old."
- Ages and Stages

" At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. The lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and it's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath the gums. The eyes have formed, but the irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers the body and the deep wrinkles on the skin, which it'll sport until baby adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside their belly, the pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily." - Baby Center

Week 21 - "I was just thinking about the cantaloupe"

21 weeks Jan. 5, 2010 • Size: Length 6.5-7in, weight 10-13oz, Size Cantaloupe

By now I have finally started to protrude... and people can now ask me if I am pregnant and my answer is definitely yes! Not ...

"Hows that baby doing? What baby brian?.... The baby panda at the ZOO!"- Brian Reagan

This is the year we are having a baby! It is all very real. Some emotions are happening at the drop of a hat as well. Poor ben, he is dealing so well with me!

"Baby's not so little any more -- by this week it'll have put on almost a pound! It's only a fraction of what it'll weigh at birth, but still major progress considering it's been (firmly) in ounces territory for the past 20 weeks. And this week the digestive system is also cranking into action, now able to absorb energy-boosting sugars from the amniotic fluid it's swallowing!" - Ages and Stages

" Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like it's practicing martial arts as the initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to the activity as you get to know baby better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now!" - Baby Center

Week 20 - HALF WAY POINT

Hooray only 20 more weeks to go! Due May 17th, 2010.
20 weeks Dec. 29, 2009 • Size: Length 6-6.5in, weight 9-10oz, Size Coconut

Christmas has come and gone and we have traveled all over the place. However, probably nothing like babies first christmas. We went to my grandmothers first, and then to my other grandparents in good ole manhattan. Were santa clause (my adorable papa) made a special guest appearance... he is gearing up for a new baby to be around!
And then home for a day to see some friends, then back on the road and gone for a week to be with ben's family. It is always so relaxing and wonderful to be with them! We got to spend the week with his brother too!

All the wonderful gifts we got this year... ben had some really fun surprises for me! Like an ipod wrapped in his much beloved wood chips from the garage! What fun. And we also got plenty of fun gifts for the baby! Kstate and Mu... here we go with the rivalry.

"Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. It's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against the torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, it's measured from head to toe.)" - Baby Center

Really fun pictures:

Week 19 - Christmas time is here

19 weeks Dec. 22, 2009 • Size: Length 5.5-6 in, weight 7-9oz, Size Grapefruit

" Your baby's sensory development is exploding! The brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that the baby may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to it, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

(Ben and I have read a good night story or two to the tummy at this point) :)

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now. The kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on the scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on the skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid." - Baby Center

I am still barely showing at this point... although preggo jeans are now my best friend.

Week 18 - Baby Dr. Pepper can

18 weeks Dec. 15, 2009 • Size: Length 5-5.5 in, weight 5-7oz, Size Soda Can

Week 18 -
" Not only can your baby tune in the world around it now, it's also equipped to react to it. When startled by a loud noise, say, it might reflexively curl up into a little ball."
-Ages and Stages

"Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and it weighs almost 7 ounces. It's busy flexing the arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. The blood vessels are visible through the thin skin, and the ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from the head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around the nerves, a process that will continue for a year after it's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound." - Baby Center

Week 17 -
" Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop."
- Baby Center

Week 17 - Best thing about being pregnant... feeling the movement

17 weeks Dec. 8, 2009 • Size: Length 4.5-5 in, weight 3-5oz, Size Beanie Baby

At this point we are getting ready to have an ultra sound... and planning on the whole family getting to be there. My folks, and sister (brother was in school) and ben's parents as well! Of course just ben and I got to go in first and see the baby... ben got to see it move at the same time as I felt it kick and what a fun thing to see on screen. Knowing that is really what I am feeling. It was so precious to get to be there with my hubby... looking at our little one. The baby measured good for everything and the nurse didn't spend much time looking for signs of boy or girl... so in fact not even our doctor knows what we are having! Once ben and I got to see the baby for a while we invited the family in and what a crowded room that was! But oh so much fun. The baby even rolled over for us and of course everyone had a different opinion about why. The grandmas think the baby is a girl and shy, sister thought the baby was a gymnast like her, and dad thought the baby was a boy and turning away like "I am done now".

Pretty fun. We walked out of the sonogram with beautiful pictures in hand and immediately everyone was taking out there phones and making backgrounds of their new favorite picture... baby doodlebug. Already a photo subject!

Here is the best pic from the sonogram!

Week 16 - Growth Spurts

16 weeks Dec. 1, 2009 • Size: Length 4.5-5 in, weight 2.5-3oz, Size Rubber Duckey

"Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double its weight and add inches to his length. Right now, it's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. The legs are much more developed, the head is more erect than it has been, and the eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. The ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of the scalp has begun, though baby's locks aren't recognizable yet. It's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, the heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop." - Baby Center

Getting excited about having a baby bump soon! Can hardly stand the fact that I am not showing yet. Although ben reminds me that once I am showing I will want to be back at this point! And man he is right!

Week 15 - Taste Buds... yummy

15 weeks Nov. 24, 2009 • Size: Length 4-4.5in, weight 1.5-2oz, Size Lemon

" Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). It's busy moving amniotic fluid through the nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in the lungs begin to develop. The legs are growing longer than the arms now, and baby can move all of the joints and limbs. Although the eyelids are still fused shut, baby can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, it's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but baby is forming taste buds." - Baby Center

Thanksgiving was a great time of relaxation with ben's family. We really enjoyed just getting to lay around and do nothing.

Week 14 - I am now 26! How exciting

14 weeks Nov. 17, 2009 • Size: Length 3.25-4in, weight 1-1.5oz, Size Peach

Ben and I have decided to not find out what our baby is going to be... boy or girl. My parents lovingly call the baby the granderson... and my sister and brother call the baby their niesphew! Here is a shirt that my brother designed for the baby! Pretty fun!

I have one pretty excited family! My sister could just come unglued at the fact that she is going to be like the 12th person to find out if she is having a niece or a nephew... she graduates the same week that I am due ... going to be a fun 60 days for the grandparents!

We are now into the second trimester and I still have no appetite. Gaining a little here and there. But everything is measuring good and the baby's heart beat was sounding so beautiful!

" This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck its thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, the facial muscles are getting a workout as the tiny features form one expression after another. The kidneys are producing urine, which it releases into the amniotic fluid around it — a process it'll keep up until birth. The baby can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch it sucking the thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and the baby weighs 1 1/2 ounces. The body's growing faster than the head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, the arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. (The legs still have some lengthening to do.) It's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over the body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel the tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active." - Baby Center

Week 13 - The baby could be waving right now!

13 weeks Nov. 10, 2009 • Size: Length 2.5-3in, weight .5-1oz, Size Egg

"Fingerprints have formed on the baby's tiny fingertips, the veins and organs are clearly visible through the still-thin skin, and the body is starting to catch up with the head — which makes up just a third of the body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. The baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce." - Baby Center

Finishing our first trimester... I had now been done working at Decloud for a week or so and was enjoying being able to rest when I got tired. Life was soon to begin to pick up pace and my business was surprisingly busy! What a joy preparing to be a stay at home mom with a home business! I am so blessed.

But seriously, fingerprints on a baby at 13 weeks... God is pretty amazing at his handiwork.

Week 12 - Finger nails already! Amazing

12 weeks Nov. 3, 2009 • Size: Length 2.5-3in, weight .50 oz, Size Pacifier

At this point my food aversions had kicked in already and I was loosing weight more often than not. All in all I have lost 20 lbs... and gained back very little. So the doctor put me on a steak and potatoes diet along with a milkshake a day to make sure I was getting enough protein and food to the baby! I could not touch hamburger or uncooked meat for months from here on out. And I was eating mainly juice, milk, apples and veggies... normally not so bad but apparently I needed some starch to give me more calories! Best diet ever!

"Fingernails and toenails are forming, and lots of stretching going on."
- Ages and Stages

" The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. The baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, the toes will curl, the eye muscles will clench, and the mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. The intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into the abdominal cavity about now, and the kidneys will begin excreting urine into the bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. The face looks unquestionably human: The eyes have moved from the sides to the front of the head, and the ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, the baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce." - Baby Center

Week 11 - Favorite Term "baby sushi roll"

11 weeks Oct. 27, 2009 • Size: Length 1.5-2.5 in, weight .25oz, Size California Roll (Baby Sushi)

Every week my mom and sister would tell people they came into contact with how big the baby was... and by far this was the best name for doodlebug.... baby sushi roll! Everyone got a kick out of that.

" This week, tiny tooth buds continue to grow under the gums, and the ears move up the sides of the head. Now coming to a close of the first trimester." - Ages and Stages

" The baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig (we liked sushi roll much better), is now almost fully formed. The hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the gums, and some of the bones are beginning to harden.

The baby's already busy kicking and stretching, and the tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. (How amazing... water ballet in utero) These movements will become more frequent as the body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that the diaphragm is forming."
- Baby Center

Week 10 - Babys Feet

10 weeks Oct. 20, 2009 • Size: Length 1.25-1.75 in, weight <.25oz, Size Grape
(baby grape)

"The baby graduates this week! Now that all of its major organs have formed (brain, lungs, kidneys, heart, etc.), it's officially called a fetus instead of an embryo. And if you think baby's come a long way so far, you ain't seen nothing yet!"
- Ages and Stages

"Though it's barely the size of a kumquat (weird I know) — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, the baby has now completed the most critical portion of its development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in the body rapidly grow and mature.

It's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including the kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout the pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside the womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: The baby's limbs can bend now. The hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart, and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. The outline of the spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from the spinal cord. The baby's forehead temporarily bulges with the developing brain and sits very high on the head, which measures half the length of the body. From crown to rump, it's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, the baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches."
- Baby Center

Here is a picture of the size of the feet at 10 Weeks... so precious

Week 9 -

My brother brandon loves starlight candy peppermints... and this week the info came across my email and we just had to call brandon and tell him that his neisphew(since we are all going to be surprised this is the term given our little doodlebug) was the size of his favorite candy!

09 weeks Oct. 13, 2009 • Size: Length 1-1.25in, weight <.25oz, Size Starlight Peppermint (baby peppermint)

"The baby's internal reproductive organs (the testes or ovaries) are forming. Also, the placenta is fully in place now, delivering key nutrients to fuel the baby's growth spurts. And even though it may leave the womb as bald as a lollipop, trust that their hair follicles begin to develop this week too!" - Ages and Stages

"The baby is an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. The baby is starting to look more and more human. The essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: The baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do the tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. The baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. The eyes are fully formed, but the eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. The baby has tiny earlobes, and the mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that the baby's basic physiology is in place, there will be room for rapid weight gain." - Baby Center

As you can tell by reading the two different sites information they do not always say the same things, or measure the baby the same way. One is a starlight mint, the other a grape! Either way how fun!!!!

Hope you are all enjoying learning so much about the future baby doodlebug downey!

Week 8 - almost lost the tail

08 weeks Oct. 6, 2009 • Size: Length <.50-.75in, weight <.25oz, Size Blueberries
(baby blueberry)

"Ten tiny fingers and toes are forming now, and the baby's eyelids are beginning to cover his peepers -- which, by the way, now have pigment in them. And everything that started developing (arms and legs, heart, and brain) continues to become more refined and specialized!" - Ages and Stages

"Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, the eyelids practically cover the eyes, breathing tubes extend from the throat to the branches of the developing lungs, and the "tail" is just about gone. In the brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. The baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though I still can't feel it." - Baby Center

Truly a child even from the beginning!

Ben and I found out when we were about 6 or 7 weeks along so I quickly subscribed to blog sites, email blasts and everything else I could get my hands on to find out what was going on with our little peanut. So we start with week 7.

07 weeks Sept. 29, 2009 • Size: Length <.25-.33 in, weight <.25oz, Size Coffee Bean

" This week the baby's arms and legs are forming, and the brain is rapidly maturing. In fact the head is growning faster than any other part of the body. And - the teeny-tiny baby has already started to move around -- but you won't typically feel any movements until the fourth or fifth month!" pulled from Ages and Stages KCParents.com

Weeks 4,5,6, and 7 from Baby Center - Week by Week
"Week 4 - the baby is an embryo! From now until week 10, the baby will develop all of its organs and some will even begin to function. The baby this week is about the size of a poppy see! Week 5 - Now about the size of a sesame seed, it looks more like a tadpole than a human.. tail and all. (Gross I know) The neural tube - baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves and backbone - is now sprouting. The heart and circulatory system begin to form.., it has even divided into chambers and beats and pumps blood. Week 6 - The nose, the mouth, and ears are beginning to take shape. There is now an over sized head and dark spots where the eyes and nostrils will be. The emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and the arms and legs are protruding little buds. The heart is now beating 100-160 times a minute (twice as fast as mine) The intestines are developing, little lung buds have appeared and baby is about .25in and the size of a lentil bean! Week 7 - the baby has possible doubled in size by week 7, Now we call it baby blueberry! Eyelids are beginning to cover her eyes, both hemispheres of the brain are now growing, the liver is churning out red blood cells, and bone marrow is now forming as well and the umbilical cord has formed!

In the beginning - A baby week by week

Now I am actually 28 weeks pregnant this week but I wanted to post the babys development from the previous weeks! Something fun to read over and see what all has been happening in there! These are all based on average pregnancy's and not actually my kiddo but ... still really fun to know what is happening to him/her! I hope you enjoy!

Love
Ben and Lane
